About Us

Overview

The National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIMTIP) was established on 7th november 2016 according to the law No. 82/2016 and was formed on January 23, 2017  following a decree from the Egyptian Prime Minister No. 192/2017. The Committee has 30 members Committee’s mandate is to lead governmental efforts to prevent and combat illegal migration in Egypt as a country of origin, transit and destination. NCCPIMTIP has been positioned as the focal point for all policies, national guidelines, action plans and programs related to the issue of illegal migration. NCCPIMTIP also acts as an advisory body to relevant authorities and institutions, reporting directly to the Prime Minister.

Priority Goals

1. To raise the public awareness on the hazards/alternatives of Illegal Migration.

2. To mobilize the resources required to serve the fight against illegal Migration (participation of private sector, capacity building of national entities working in the field).
3. To support the development process in order to reduce illegal Migration
4. To promote legal/ regular tracks of Migration.
5. To protect the most vulnerable groups at risk of exploitation/smuggling.
6. To build a national capacity to collect/ analyze information on illegal migration issue.
7. To build and operationalize the legislative framework necessary to support the efforts of combating illegal migration.
8. To reinforce regional cooperation through sharing of expertise, and interregional capacity building.

NCCPIM vision

Our vision is to be a leading country, in combating illegal migration and human trafficking having an integrated policy that provides an attractive living environment for its citizens that respects the relevant international conventions.

NCCPIM mission

To deepen cooperation between national (governmental and non-governmental) parties and regional and international parties to achieve comprehensive development to reduce illegal migration and human trafficking.
